A bomb blast on Monday, rocked an Islamiyyah school in the Kuchibiyu community of Bwari Area Council, Federal Capital Territory (FCT), leaving one student dead and four others severely injured.
The explosion occurred around midday in the quiet community, located about 42 kilometers from Abuja’s city center.
Emergency responders, including the police bomb disposal unit, arrived promptly at the scene, while the injured students were rushed to a nearby hospital for urgent treatment.
According to a security source, the deceased student was reportedly in possession of a suspected Improvised Explosive Device (IED), which detonated unexpectedly.
Authorities are yet to issue an official statement on the incident, Prompt News reports.
