The Nigeria Boxing Board of Control (NBBofC) on Thursday received the Universal Boxing Organisation (UBO) African Belt from the Ghana Boxing Authority (GBA).
This was made known in statement made available to journalists on Thursday in Lagos by Segun Aboderin, the Secretary NBBofC.
It stated that the Belt was presented to the President of the NBBofC, Dr. Rafiu Oladipo.
Nigeria’s Idowu “ID Buster” Rasheed won the vacant UBO African Light-Heavyweight belt by a round two knockout over Ghanaian Bastie Samir on Saturday at Decathlon, Kawukudi Park, Accra, Ghana.
However, the fight was declared a technical draw, after the brutal second round knockout, instead of a knockout win for Rasheed.
With the intervention of the Universal Boxing Organization (UBO) championships sanctioning body as well as massive publicity and awareness, the result was overturned in favour of the Nigerian.
