The Police on Tuesday arraigned a 29-year-old man, Timileyin Olubunmi, before an Ikeja Chief Magistrates’ Court for allegedly stealing a cold room compressor and copper wire valued at N2 million.
The defendant, a barber, who resides at No. 1, Shogbesan St., Moshalashi, Alagbado Lagos, was charged with unlawful entry and stealing.
The prosecutor, ASP Raji Akeem, told the court that the offences were committed in October 2023 at Shogbesan Street, Alagbado, Lagos.
Akeem said that the defendant entered the cold room of the complainant, Mr Yomi Fashola and stole a compressor and copper wire worth N2 million.
He said the defendant was arrested with the stolen items by the security guards attached to the street.
According to the prosecutor, the offences contravene Sections 287 and 309 of the Criminal Laws of Lagos State, 2015.
The defendant, however, pleaded not guilty to the charge.
The Chief Magistrate, Mrs Bola Osunsanmi granted the defendant bail in the sum of N200,000 with two sureties in like sum.
Osunsanmi adjourned the case until Jan. 24 for mention. (NAN)
