For the residents of Dansadau Community in Maru Local Government Area
(LGA) of Zamfara state, it was another night of horror as armed bandits attacked them in their sleep, killing two people and abducting seven others for ransom in the wee hours of Friday.
The dare-devil bandits were also said to have set ablaze a military Armoured Personnel Carrier (APC) during the operation.
Multiple media information obtained by Prompt News on Friday morning
revealed that the well armed bandits struck at Maru Community around
2:30 am on Friday and their operation
Iasted about four hours without any challenge from security agencies.
It was also gathered that an Armoured Personnel Carrier (APC) belonging to the Nigerian Military was set ablaze by the marauding bandits.
Recall that armed bandits had recently abducted several school children in Zamfara state and have stepped up their war against the Nigerian state by having the temerity to down a military Alpha Jet as was confirmed by Nigerian Air Force (NAF) Spokesman, Edward Gabkwet, an Air Commodore and the Director of Public Relations and Information.
He had in an official statement on Monday told a bewildered nation that: “NAF Alpha Jet returning from a successful air interdiction mission came under intense enemy fire which led to its crash in Zamfara State and the Pilot rescued”.
