The outgoing Comptroller General of the Nigerian Immigration Service, (NIS) Muhammad Babandede has said his greatest legacy in office was the successful digitalization of operational services of the NIS, more especially on borders management services worldwide.
“I am pleased to announce that in our five years of leadership, we were able to reposition the Nigerian Immigration Services for efficiency, improved quality service delivery and networking. Most of our operational gadgets with modern facility of international standard aimed to compete with modern challenges in border control and management, stressing this will go a long way to boost the security integrity of our nation in the eyes of the world”
Speaking on the grand reception in his honor at Ringim on Sunday by the Youth and Civil Society Coalition for Development, ( YCSCD), Babandede commended the forum for the gesture, saying “I remain grateful to my Governor, Badaru Abubakar, on whose fatherly advise helped me a lot in achieving my mission in steering the leadership of the NIS most successfully.
Also, I extend such commendation to the five Emirs of Jigawa state, the entire well wishers and members of the larger community for love, affection and mutual understanding and cooperation rendered to me at all times”, adding “my success goes hand in hand with my posture of good working relationship with the people, my men in the service.
He added this earns me mutual respect, and honored from both my community, my men in the service, amongst other well wishers.
Babandede also stressed “for one to excel in life, one is expected to work well, manage the people well, definitely one will accord respect and honour. I therefore urged my fellow men in the services of Immigration services to be dedicated, punctual to duty and above all be God fearing, honest, and transparent in all your undertakings.”
Earlier in his remarks, the Emir of Ringim, Alh Sayyadi Mahmud extol the good virtue of the outgoing Immigration boss as saying he is a man of God, principle and real patriotic Nigerian who distinguished himself in the service of humanity and the country in rendering selfless service to the nation.
“Your noble achievements in transforming the Immigration Services will ever be remembered as you contribute immensely towards improving the service to the greater height through introduction of certain measures aimed at enhancing the services to the modest by means of digitilizing the operational conduct of the services worldwide, worth commendable”
This same reception was graced in honor of Babandede by ( YCSCD) in Hadejia before Ringim where the Emir of Hadejia, Alh. Adamu Abubakar Maje thanked the outgoing Immigration Boss for his laudable achievements in services of the NIS and wish him more success in his future endeavors.
The occasion was graced by imminent personalities, well wishers among other big dignitaries comprised of politicians, state and federal civil servants, business moguls, among others.
