Disturbed by the listing of Nigeria among countries still having issues with the Financial Action Taskforce (FATF), the Federal Government on Tuesday, constituted a Cabinet team to accelerate the country’s removal from the infamous group. The FATF deals with issues relating to Anti-Money laundering/Counter Financing Terrorism regimes. The Cabinet team is headed by Vice President Namadi Sambo. Nigeria will commence the withdrawal of some its troops from the Peace Support Operations in Mali, the Defence headquarters (DHQ) announced on Tuesday. According to the Director of Defence Information (DDI), Brig. Gen. Chris Olukolade, the troops are mainly those not accommodated in the structures of the newly formed United Nations Multidimensional Integrated Stabilization Mission in Mali, (MINUSMA).  He said they are to join the ongoing internal security operations in the country. Nigerian government has again, vowed to take appropriate action to retaliate the planned imposition of 3,000 pounds ‘cash bond’ policy on first-time visa applicants to the United Kingdom. The Federal Government said this, following media reports on Monday quoting the UK Foreign Office that the British government will go ahead to implement the cash bond policy from November this year in spite of its opposition to it.
