Following the death of three journalists on Friday evening, the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) on Saturday declared seven days mourning in their honour. Addressing journalists in Osogbo, NUJ National President, Garba Mohammed, directed that all activities of the union at the chapels, state and national levels be suspended throughout the mourning period. While condoling with the families of the deceased, he also directed all state chapels to open condolence register as well as at the national headquarters. Zimbabwe’s President Robert Mugabe has won a seventh term in office, officials say, amid claims of electoral fraud. Mr Mugabe, 89, won 61% of the vote, against Prime Minister Morgan Tsvangirai’s 34%.
