Air Vice Marshal Hassan Abubakar has taken over as the Chief of Air Staff. The President, Bola Tinubu, on Monday, announced the retirement and replacement of the service chiefs. Abubakar is the 22nd Chief of Air Staff. A U.S. Immigration lawyer, Mrs Olubusayo Fasidi, on Thursday said that Lagos Deputy Gov. Obafemi Hamzat took oath of allegiance in the U.S. to renounce Nigerian citizenship. The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that Fasidi, a Nigerian, testified before Lagos State Election Petition Tribunal. The National Directorate of Employment (NDE) on Thursday began a three-day training on business skills for 50 of its graduated trainees under the Sustainable Agricultural Development Training Scheme (SADTS) in Bayelsa. A Sharia Court in Kano State on Thursday ordered that a  25-year old man, Aliyu Sa’ad, who pleaded guilty to calling his freind gay, be remanded in a correction centre. The Judge, Malam Umar Lawal-Abubakar, gave the order following a guilty plea entrered by Sa’ad. Lawal-Abubakar adjourned the matter until July 3 for summary trial. A gas explosion in a restaurant in northern China has killed at least 31 people, Chinese state news agency Xinhua reported on Thursday. Seven others were injured, one of them seriously in the explosion on Wednesday night, Xinhua said. The explosion happened at a barbecue restaurant in the Chinese city of Yinchuan, in the north-western Ningxia region. The cause which was probably a gas leak led to many deaths.
