The Chairman of FCT FA, Mouktar Mohammed Adam has described the ouster of Nigeria’s U-20 as unfortunate and least expected having edged out the host country Argentina in the round of 16.
Mouktar said having played at the final of the competition before, Nigerians expected the boys to up their game against Korea to secure semi-final ticket .
He said , Fying Eagles looked ordinary in their play against Korea, lack finishing and unable to take their chances . Personally I don’t see any massive talent in the team that stands out.
He further stated while accessing the team that he didn’t see any massive talent in the team that stands out. Overall they performed below average. “Playing at the final is what is expected at this level and anything shot of that is below the bar performance. Though we can’t outrightly condemned them . We must commend their efforts”
The Flying Eagles lost 0 – 1 to Korea in the quarter-final and expected to be in Nigeria on Tuesday base on FIFA schedule for teams that failed to progress to the semi-final.
