The Association of Professional Footballers of Nigeria (APFON) is planning to organize the first West Africa Footballers’ Conference (COWAF).
The conference which is billed to take place in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital, has as its conference team “Building a viable future for West African footballers” which will be delivered by Ghanian ex-international Anthony Baffle, who himself is the President of Ghana A players’ union.
According to Austin Popo, the Executive Secretary of the body, dignitaries expected at the event are Governor Isiaka Abiola Ajimobi, who will be the chief host, Minister of Sports, Bolaji Abdullahi, Nigeria Football Federation President, Aminu Miagari, Commissiouner for Sports IN Oyo State, Dapo Lam -Adeshina and President General Trade Union Congress, Bala Bobboi Kaigama.
The conference participants include current and ex footballers from West Africa countries, including chairmen and secretaries of APFON State executives.
