A member of House of Representatives, Mr Yakubu Shehu, says that All Progressives Congress (APC) has a brighter future in Bauchi and stands a better chance to reclaim the state in 2023.
Shehu, representing Bauchi Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, said this in an interview with newsmen on Monday in Bauchi.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) had, in 2019, won election against the then ruling APC in the state.
The lawmaker, who described Bauchi as a progressive state and home of APC, attributed PDP’s victory in the 2019 elections to what he called protest votes.
“Bauchi people are progressives. So APC has a brighter future to reclaim the state in 2023.
“You can see that people are desperately joining APC. This is because our people don’t tolerate radical approaches to any service.
“We have all the structures, the capacity and the politicians who will work tirelessly to see that the state returns to APC,” Shehu said.
The lawmaker urged APC leadership in the state to reconcile all aggrieved members for the progress of the party.
According to him, there is an urgent need to bring all members under a united platform through consultations with critical stakeholders, ahead of 2023.
“Although APC members don’t have serious problems among them, all the same, there are pockets of them.
“I can assure you that it will soon be resolved so that the party can face its political process and agenda for 2023,” Shehu said. (NAN)
