The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ekiti State has been accused of running the State owned Radio and Television stations aground when Dr Kayode Fayemi was governor, saying; “the party and its members refused to pay over N35 million owed the Broadcasting Service of Ekiti State (BSES) despite repeated appeals.”
Special Assistant to the State Governor on Public Communications and New Media, Lere Olayinka, who made this known in a statement issued on Wednesday, said; “campaign adverts and programmes on the Radio and Television stations for Fayemi’s reelection were not paid for.”
Olayinka, who disclosed that a sum of N23. 2m was outstanding from Fayemi’s campaign jingles and musicals alone, added that other APC leaders like Senator Babafemi Ojudu, Hon Bimbo Daramola, Yemi Adaramodu and others owed the BSES over N10m.
He said; “Igba Otun by Anthony Ayikeke that was co-sponsored by Deji Adesokan(Jaru) and Yemi Adaramodu owed EKTV N540,000.00 and Ekiti Radio N120,000.00.
“Abomire by Olaegbon that was sponsored by Hon Bimbo Daramola owed N330,000.00 while ERO by Lasisi Adeyemi, sponsored by Senator Babafemi Ojudu owed N380,000.00.
“Ajose Wa Ntesiwaju’ by Akanbi Taibat, sponsored by Yemi Adaramodu owed N1,442,307.00 while ‘Ibi Abase De by Tola Popoola sponsored by Hon SundayAdumo (Galaxy) owed N300,000.00.
“JKF Moving Train by Dele Alagbon (Omo Olope) owed N4,550,000.00 while Oyinmomo by Lasisi Adeyemi sponsored by Hon. Bunmi Akanbi-Awotiku owed N388,000.00.”
He therefore called on the APC leaders, especially Fayemi to pay up the debt, adding that; “the BSES management may have to take stringent measures to recover the debt.”
