Governor Peter Obi of Anambra on Monday pointedly told the candidates of the All Progressives Congress (APC0 and Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Chris Ngige and Tony Nwoye respectively that they can never win the state’s governorship election.
Fielding questions from State House correspondents during the launch of the YouWin third phase at the presidential Villa, Abuja, Obi said the candidate of the All progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), Williams Obiano would still emerge winner after the supplementary election.
The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) had declared the November 16 governorship election inconclusive sequel to series of irregularities that marred it and has now fixed a supplementary election for Saturday, November 30.
He reiterated his earlier claim that his party won the election in a fair manner.
According to him, “I can tell you that there was no issue of election rigging. Those who wanted to rig were prevented from rigging and they are crying.
“Go to the people of Anambra state, if you repeat that election 10 times, they will never win. What are they even talking about cancellation?
“The law says you have to win at least 25% in two thirds of the local governments. In Anambra case, it is 14 local governments. Only APGA can boast of that. We won in 18 local governments. The nearest, which is PDP won is nine, APC seven and I can tell you even those result they are shouting about their own is one that is doubtful.
“Everything for APGA is real. I cannot be part of rigging; I don’t have money to pay to people. You know those who spend money. I am not one of them .Losers can cry”.
