The Nasarawa State House of Assembly has called for the immediate sack of the Secretary to the State Government, Alhaji Aliyu Tijani over alleged N1 billion fraud.
The House passed the resolution during proceeding at the Nasarawa state house of Assembly in Lafia on Tuesday.
Member representing Lafia North, Mohammed Alkali moved the motion for the SSG to be relieved of his duty, after the house established that the SSG is not fit to continue to hold his office.
The House concurred that Commissioner displayed blatant inefficiency, incompetence and ineffectiveness in the performance of his duties.
Speaker of the House, Rt. Hon. Ibrahim Balarabe Abdullahi called on the State Governor, Engr. Abdullahi Sule to work on what the House concurred.
“ I will call on his Excellency in a matter of urgency to work on the resolution of this honourable house.
Prompt News recalls that on Monday, 2nd of June 2020, Hon Daniel Oga Ogazi, member representing Kokona- East, chairman Ad-hoc Committee that investigated the alleged fraud of N1billion meant for the renovation and fencing of Government Secondary School across the state in 2018 when Alhaji Tijani was the commissioner for education, submitted the findings and recommendations of the committee to the House for deliberation.
The lawmakers, after careful deliberation, demanded that Alhaji Tijani refunds the sum of N248.5 million unaccounted for and submits that he vacates his office with immediate effect.
