Fast-rising Super Falcons defender, Glory Ogbonna is confident that Nigeria will beat Algeria again next week in Lagos to qualify for the next round of the on-going 2020 Tokyo Olympics women’s football Africa qualifiers.
Super Falcons last Wednesday in Blida defeated The Fennecs of Algeria 2-0 to Nigeria in pole position to advance to the round with just a draw at Agege stadium in Lagos on Tuesday, September 3.
But Ogbonna who played the full 90 minutes in the defeat of Algeria is optimistic that Nigeria will earn another victory over their opponents.
“I am confident we (Falcons) can beat them (Algerians) again in Lagos. We are working hard to correct our mistakes in the first leg in Blida. Our coach has always pointed out our errors and go ahead to.cortect us. I believe we have the team to defeat the Algerians in our home”, she revealed.
The Ibom Queens FC of Uyo no nonsense defender and former Nigeria’s U-17 & U-20 ace defence marshal has been part of Head Coach Thomas Dennerby Falcons since the Swede took over the team.
Ogbonna was in the team to France friendly match last year and part of the team that won AWCON 2018 in Ghana but missed the cut for Nigeria’s FIFA Women’s World cup final in France last summer.
