Minister of State for Budget and National Planning, Prince Clem Ikanade Agba, has thanked President Muhammadu Buhari for guiding the Federal Executive Council (FEC) in granting approval for the reconductoring of 90km Benin-Irrua and 72km Irrua-Okpella 132KV Single Circuit Transmission Lines with Turn-In-Turn-Out Tower at Irrua and Okpella 132 KV substations respectively in Edo State.
Agba said that approval was also granted by the FEC for the reconductoring of 48km Okpella-Okene and 58km Okene-Ajaokuta 132KV Single Circuit Transmission Lines from Edo to Kogi States.
According to him, the projects were in the sum of USD12,806,635.55 and N630,590,050:00 inclusive of 7.5 percent VAT, payable at the CBN prevailing exchange rate at the time of payment and with a delivery period of 12 months.
Agba also thanked the Minister of Power and other members of the FEC for supporting the projects and securing the consequential presidential and FEC approvals, said the projects would help to increase capacity and/or quality of power and the efficiency of the transmission lines for the benefit of the people of Edo State as well as those of Okene and Ajaokuta in the neighbouring Kogi State.
