Apparently to get more information on the allegations bordering on national security, the Department of State Services (DSS) has again invited Dr. Obadiah Mailafiya, a former Deputy Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) for questioning next Monday.
The news of Dr. Mailafia’s latest invitation emerged Friday afternoon even as he or his lawyers (Yakubu Bawa & co.) are yet to collaborate the information.
This will be the third time he will be invited to clarify issues with the government agency.
Prompt News recalls that Dr. Mailafiya has twice now been invited by the security outfit following an interview he granted an Abuja-based independent FM Radio station.
During the interview, he had alleged among other things that a current northern governor was backing Boko Haram insurgents.
Dr. Mailafiya was in the DSS custody for six hours but was later released unconditionally.
Similarly, the National Broadcasting Corporation (NBC) fined the radio station (Nigeria Info.) that conducted the said interview the sum of N5 million for contravening the broadcasting code.
