By Gracious Akujobi Chief coach of Warri Wolves FC, Sam Okpodu on Wednesday said that losing their matches at the ongoing Super 4 can be a blessing in disguise for the team.
Okpodu told Prompt News that though they lost three matches already, the Sea Siders who are representing Nigeria in the CAF Confederation cup are happy with their ball possession, adding that they are taking away positives from the tourney.
“In terms of ball possession, the team has improved and we intend to keep improving. We have not been outplayed in all three games and the goals that we conceded are not the types that give cause for worry”, declared Okpodu.
He said further, “We will work to make our ball possession count and that is one of the positives we have extracted from the tournament.
“We started training three weeks ago and we have about ten days to prepare for our tournament “When we leave here we have to get serious to do some work and get ourselves prepared” he explained.
The former Coach of the Super Falcons said his team Warri Wolves hope to go all the way in the continental championship as he thanked the organizers of the Super 4 for giving them the platform to watch and assess the players they have.
“If not that we are playing in this Super 4, I wonder what would have been our lot because the people we are going to be playing against in the continent have been playing for the last six months. They have been playing their league for the last six months; we are on the back end they are on the front end.
“We cannot state categorically right now how far we will go in the continent but our goal is to win every match leading to the final” he stated.
