The Executive Producer and President of the Africa Music Awards (AFRIMA), Mr. Mike Dada has lost his wife, Mrs. Modupe Temitope Dada, to the cold hands of death.
She died on Saturday, 19th of October, 2024, at Duchess Hospital in Ikeja, Lagos, after a brief illness.
Modupe Dada, née Baruwa, was born on 5th of May, 1976, in Ijebu Ode, Ogun State. In a statement released by the AFRIMA International Secretariat on Monday, Mr. Dada, who is also the Managing Director of PRM Africa Marketing and Communications, reflected on his late wife’s commitment to family values, community service, inclusivity, and her deep love for God and Africa.
“It is with immeasurable grief that we, the Dada family, confirm the passing of our wife and sister, Modupe Temitope Dada, also known as Dupsy, Mama Africa,” Mr. Dada stated. “She was a true and loving wife and mother. Throughout her life in the banking and entertainment industries, she brought affection and compassion that we have come to cherish.”
The family has submitted to the will of Almighty God and requested prayers and support from kind-hearted individuals during this challenging time. “Her passing has left a void that will be impossible to fill,” he added.
Burial arrangements have been announced, including a Service of Songs at 5:00 PM (WAT) on Wednesday, 23rd of October, 2024, at Grace Assembly, Yard 158, Kudirat Abiola Way, Oregun-Ikeja, Lagos State. A farewell service will be held on Thursday, 24th of October, 2024, at 10:00 AM (WAT) at the same venue, followed by a private interment.

Modupe Dada, who also served as Vice-President of AFRIMA and was an accomplished bank executive, is survived by her husband, two children, siblings, and numerous relatives.
Her African friends and fans will remember her for her limitless love, selflessness, and compassion.
