Falconets head coach, Chris Danjuma says his side is firmly focused on winning a second consecutive gold medal at the African Games 2023.
Danjuma’s side won gold medal in the women’s football event four years ago In Morocco.
Nigeria will face perennial rivals Ghana in the final at the Cape Coast Stadium on Thursday (today).
Danjuma emphasized the importance of the African Games as a stepping stone for the upcoming World Cup.
“I’ve told you from start that it’s a privilege to be here playing teams that have also qualified for the World cup,” Danjuma told a press conference.
“It’s an opportunity for us to begin to test ourselves before going for the world cup.
“And that was the reason why I said, just like every team we respect Ghana, so it’s a joy to play any team here and it’s a joy to play Ghana as well.”
