The Flying Eagles of Nigeria started their campaign at the Africa Games 2023 on a losing note, going down 2-1 against Hippos of Uganda.
Uganda took the lead through Kizma Osama in the 35th minute.
The lead lasted just two minutes before Sadiq Isiyaka levelled scores for Nigeria with a powerful header.
It was the Hippos who went home with the three points courtesy of an 81st minute winner by Ivan Irinimabozi.
