St. Pauli forward, Oladapo Afolayan has expressed his desire to play for Nigeria at the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
Afolayan is eligible to play for Nigeria and England.
The 27-year-old was born in England to Nigerian parents.
The versatile striker has caught the eye with his impressive performances since linking up with St.Pauli from Bolton Wanderers in January, 2023.
The Kiezkicker gained promotion to Bundesliga last season.
He has scored two goals and provided one assist in appearances for the club this season.
“I want to kick on again, play international football. Play for Nigeria at the next World Cup, and hopefully as long as my performances keep being strong and improving, then I’ll do that,”he told the Bundesliga.
