President of African Development Bank (ADB), Dr. Akinwunmi Adesina today (Tuesday) paid a courtesy visit to President Muhammadu Buhari at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.
During the visit, he gave assurance that his organization will support the Economic Community of West African Countries (ECOWAS) single currency project.
Speaking to State House Correspondents on his mission in the Presidental Villa Abuja, Adesina revealed that he was in the seat of government to thank President Buhari for Nigeria’s role on his recent reappointment as the AfDB President.
According to Adesina, “of course I am in the Villa today to say thank you to President Muhammadu Buhari for his great support and the country’s tremendous support for my re-election as the African Development Bank president”.
He also disclosed that he used the opportunity of his visit to discuss a wide range of issues concerning Nigeria, ECOWAS and entire African continent including the issue of recharging the Lake Chad Basin and tackling terrorism.
The former federal minister under ex-President, Dr. Goodluck Jonathan, said the AfDB is helping Nigeria in fighting terrorism by providing huge sum of financial aids to tune of a million dollars for the Northeast Development Commission.
