The Benin Football Federation has confirmed key defender Cédric Hountondji will miss the Cheetahs crucial 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers against Nigeria and Libya due to injury.
Hountondji, according to the BFF is currently nursing a hamstring injury.
The centre-back sustained the injury ahead of the Cheetahs matchday three encounter against Rwanda last month and is still recuperating.
The Angers of France player has featured regularly for Benin under Gernot Rohr.
Rohr unveiled his squad for the games against Nigeria and Libya on Thursday.
The Cheetahs will host Nigeria at their makeshift home ground, Felix Houphet Boigny Stadium, Abidjan next week Thursday.
They will be away to Libya four days later.
