Some football fans in Abuja have cautioned the Super Eagles against underrating Angola, when they meet in the quarter final of the ongoing Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) in Cote d`Ivoire.
The fans who spoke with News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Monday in Abuja, said the Angolans would rely on their previous triumphs against the Eagles going into the match.
NAN reports that Nigeria defeated Cameroon 2-0 in the round of 16 to get to the quarter- final stage.
Shettima Ibrahim, a footballer expressed confidence in the team’s ability to continue their impressive performance in the tournament.
“The Eagles were firm in their performance against the indomitable Lions and we look forward to the quarter-finals with high expectations to defeat Angola.
“I am confident that the Super Eagles will be victorious once again against Angola. They were dedicated, resilient and united in that game,“he said.
Victor Adewunmi, a footballer urged the Eagles to rekindle the spirit used to play the Cameroonians.
“I commended the resilient spirit exhibited by the players and I am optimistic they will get to the final and lift the trophy,” he said.
Kudus Onimisi, a football instructor said that Cameroon was a tough side and the game brought out the best in the super Eagles. We want them to continue with this zeal.
He urged the technical crew of the Super Eagles to continue formations and tactics that would give the team victory against their opponents.
Nkechi Obi urged the Eagles to up their game against Angola and should avoid been complacent when they take to the pitch on Friday.
Phillip Omole, a football coach said the team’s commitment to excellence and unity was evident in their game against Cameroon.

He urged them to replicate or even surpass their performance against the Lions of Cameroon.
“I just want Super Eagles to maintain the standard and never fall. I believe they have up their game. I believe that with this new approach, they can lift the trophy,” he said.
NAN reports that Super Eagles will confront Angola’s Palancas Negras in the quarter final on Friday at the Stade Félix Houphouët-Boigny in Abidjan, Cote d` Ivoire at 6pm. ( NAN)
