Adamawa Government has confirmed the receipt of 59,280 doses of COVID-19 vaccines from the Federal Government.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the vaccine was received by Mr Bashir Ahmad, Secretary to the State Government (SSG) and Chairman of COVID-19 Containment Committee, in Yola on Wednesday.
Speaking with newsmen shortly after taking delivery of the vaccines, the SSG said that the vaccination exercise would be officially launched on Monday, adding that it would be administered in three phases.
According to him, the first set will be health workers, security agents, who are considered to be frontline workers, as well as some critical leaders.
The second phase, he said, would include those with underline mobility and sick persons, while the third would be the general public.
Ahmad said that those to access vaccines must be registered in the portal from where they would be directed to the centre to be vaccinated.
He called on the people of state to get themselves registered so as to be beneficiaries of the vaccination. (NAN)
