The Adamawa chapter of All Farmers’ Association of Nigeria (AFAN) says it will begin sells and distribution of 50,000 bags of NPK fertilisers to farmers at 50 per cent loan by next week.
Alhaji Kabiru Ibrahim, State Chairman of the association told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Yola on Wednesday.
He said the sells and distribution of the commidity would be conducted at the designated centers across the 21 local government areas in the state.
Ibrahim said: “A bag of the fertilisers will be sold at N22,000 per bag in which farmers will pay N12,000 at the point of collection, while the balance of N12,000 shall be paid after harvest.
“Interested farmers are expected to obtain and fille forms indicating their interest to purchase the commodity.
“We will closely monitor the sells and distribution, as the exercise will be free from political, sectional or religious considerations,” he assured.

Ibrahim explained that the main aim of the initiative was to promote food security, create employment and facilitate farmers’ free and smooth access to fertilisers.
He assured the determination of his administration to continue to provide relevant farm inputs to farmers at affordable prices, saying: “we shall not relent in supporting our farmers for bumper harvest.” (NAN)
