It was a night of gltiz on Sunday as a huge number of Federal Capital Territory (FCT) residents despite the current harsh economic climate turned up to savour the much-advertised entertainment event titled: Comedy & Lifestyle With MC Papi at the prestigious Transcorp Hilton Abuja.
Attendees could not have asked for less as they got premium entertainment and masterclass performance put up by the main act, MC Papi who is indeed one of Abuja’s successful headline standup comedians and Master of Ceremonies (MCs).
The comedian who has continued to entertain and thrill his fans and followers with wonder appearances and mindblowing performances at high profile events and occasions like the Sunday event tagged ‘The Rebirth Of Lifestyle’ did not disappoint on the night as he dished out rib-cracking jokes that made people laughing out their hearts.
It was a full house at the Conference Hall, Transcorp Hilton, Abuja and the clientèle made of up high, mighty and persons who can afford the tickets thronged the hotel to enjoy the night of entertainment which lasted till midnight.
In attendance are some prominent persons in business, governments, diplomatic community and decision makers of the headline sponsors including Transcorp Hilton, Abuja; Skyewise Group and Cubana Trading & Investment Co.Ltd.
The evening started with music and interesting performances by upcoming acts like female standup comedian Ms Chisom Okoye aka ‘Senior Man’ whose jokes attracted alot of cheers and a very hilarious young Sadiq popularly called ‘Fulani Comedian’ as well as a live stage performance of a cultural troupe that depicted Eyo Masquerade of Lagos Island.
There were several other performers on the night before the Edo state-born MC Papi who is currently based in Abuja and doubles as a businessman with vast media experience in the entertainment and showbiz industry took to the stage just as his entry elicited alot of joyous cheers in the hall.
“I will humbly request everyone in the hall to be up standing and please, honour me by switching on their phone light and shine towards me. I appreciate you all. Thanks for leaving whatever you were doing to be in this show. God bless you all”, MC Papi said as he went on his knees to thank the audience.
He later singled out the headline sponsors and some individual in the crowd to thank them for making the event possible, urging them not to turn their backs on him anytime he comes calling on them for assistance to sustain his brand.
