The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) says it will re-open its Orientation Camp in Kaduna State on Nov. 15, following the restoration of normalcy in the state.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) recalls that the camp was shut down on Oct. 22 due to security unrest in parts of the state.
However, the NYSC Management in a statement signed by its Director of Press, Mrs Adenike Adeyemi, in Abuja on Wednesday, advised prospective corps members earlier posted to the state on Oct. 23, for the 2018 Batch ‘C’ Stream I orientation course to report to the camp.
Adeyemi said that the scheme has also set Nov. 15 for commencement of orientation course for the 2018 Batch ‘C’ Stream II set of prospective corps members.
She said however that the orientation course would hold in only 27 states of the federation.
“All prospective corps members earlier deployed to Kaduna state for the 2018 Batch ‘C’ Stream I orientation course are advised to report to camp on the above mentioned date (Nov. 15).
“The management advises all prospective Batch ‘C’ Stream II corps members to proceed to their respective camps as stated on their call up letters.
“Registration will commence on Thursday, Nov. 15, and swearing-in ceremony will take place on Monday, Nov. 19th. The orientation course will end on Dec. 5.
“The orientation course will hold in only 27 states; namely, Abia, Adamawa, Akwa-Ibom, Bayelsa, Cross-River, Delta, Ebonyi, Edo, Ekiti, Enugu, Gombe, Imo, Jigawa, Kaduna and Kano.
“Others are: Katsina, Kebbi, Kwara, Lagos, Nasarawa, Niger, Ondo, Osun, Oyo, Taraba, Zamfara and FCT,’’ the statement read in part.
NAN also reports that the 2018 Batch ‘C’ Stream I orientation course, which commenced on Oct. 23 at various NYSC camps across the country, ended on Nov. 13.
