            Gov Ramalan Yero

The rank of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Kaduna state swelled on Friday as no fewer than 5,000 All Progressive Congress (APC) defected to the party.

Receiving the crowd at the Umaru Yar’Adua Indoor Sports Hall, Kaduna, PDP chairman in the state, Abubakar Haruna, told the returnee members to go back to their various wards to register for proper documentation.

While declaring loyalty to the PDP, the decampees said they had realized they took a wrong step by joining the APC, pleading that they should be accepted back.

Governor Ramallan Yero, who was present at the rally in company of his deputy, Nuhu Bajoga urged them to continue to support the state government.

“The people can only enjoy the dividends of democracy if they participate in the affairs of the government and support the present administration in the state,” Governor Yero said.

Prompt News recalls that barely two days ago, the 23 deregistered political parties in the state joined the ruling PDP.
