Afenifere Chieftain and Peoples’ Democratic Party (PDP) governorship aspirant in Ekiti State, Dayo Adeyeye has hailed the emergence of former Bauchi State Governor, Ahmadu Adamu Ma’azu as the PDP National Chairman, describing the new chairman as “the kind of personality needed to lead the PDP at this critical period.”
Adeyeye, who said he was particularly happy with the choice of Mu’azu, added that the party leaders, especially President Goodluck Jonathan deserve commendation for choosing someone with a strong character like Mu’azu.
While expressing confidence in the ability of the new chairman to bring back the party’s lost glories, especially in the South-West, Adeyeye said; “As governor of Bauchi State, he made his mark and the landmark physical and infrastructural developments he brought to bear on the State are pointers to his competency and vision.
“Most importantly, the chairman’s networks across Nigeria’s religious and geopolitical divides are assets needed by the PDP at this time, and it is our prayers in Ekiti State PDP that the Almighty Allah will grant him more wisdom to steer the ship of the party.”
While calling on the Chairman to give priority attention to the South-West zone, Adeyeye said; “the PDP in the zone deserves a special attention from the chairman because the party now has another opportunity of returning to power in the zone, as a result of mis-governance by the All Progressives Congress (APC) governors in the zone.”
