By Gracious Akujobi The League Management Company (LMC) has paid the four teams participating in the pre-season tournament N1 million as participation fee.
A member of the LMC, Shehu Dikko disclosed this to Prompt News at the Glass House during a Consultative meeting with the leadership of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) on Tuesday.
He said, “LMC has today paid into the clubs account the participation fee of N1million for them to prepare very well .
“We are giving them in advance so that they can prepare well, we all known that getting funds at beginning of the year is not easy.
“We are in top gear that is why we came for consultation at the NFF and they are fully in support of what we are doing pertaining to the pre-season tournament”.
Dikko said gates of the stadium will be thrown open for football fans to come and cheer their clubs to victory.
He spoke further, “We shall allow the gate to be open free to allow the fans to come and cheer their teams to victory.
“This is the first time in the history of football in Abuja that we are providing buses from Kubwa, Mararaba, Lugbe all over the city to convey fans free of charge to the stadium to watch the game”.
Dikko pleaded with Nigerians to support the local league by going to the stadium to watch league matches as security of fans will be assured with the plans the LMC is putting in place to secure lives and property.
