Four teams, defending champions, Kano Pillars, Gombe Bulls, Kwara Falcons and youthful Hoops & Read will Saturday battle for the available two continental tickets as the Kwese Premier League semi finals hold in Kano.
In the first semi final to be divided at the Indoor Hall of the Sani Abacha stadium, homers, Kano Pillars will take on perennial rivals Gombe Bulls who lost to them in last year’s final.
The match-up which has been described as final before the final will see the coach Sani Ahmed tutored side in a game of their life as the Gombe side have beaten them twice, once each during the regular season and the Conference play-off.
The second semi final is between two Atlantic sides, Conference champions, Kwara Falcons and Hoops & Read who surprisingly emerged as Group B leaders at the Final 8 here in Kano.
The game is a repeat of last year’s third place match when the Olumide Oyedeji sponsored team beat the Kwara side to emerge third behind Kano Pillars and Gombe Bulls.
