By Gracious Akujobi TEAM Nigeria quarter-miler Regina George over the weekend won the 600m at the Arkansas Indoor Invitational, in the United States. George finished a record impressive time of 1:25.76.
Her compatriot, Bukola Abogunloko placed second in time of 1:29.49; Tameka Jameson was third in 1:32.29.
The fourth place went to Cindy Forde, Aidan Shea place fifth and Elrine Goosen was sixth. Amber Goin did not start.
George, a semi-finalist at the Moscow 2013 IAAF World Championship in Athletics last August is one of Nigerian athletes being tipped to make podium appearance at the Glasgow 2014 Commonwealth Games.
Abogunloko who was one the 4x400m quartet, which included George that made the final of the women relay also at Moscow 2013, is also being tipped to do well at the Commonwealth Games.
