By Godwin Kingsley, Lafia A stalwart of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Nasarawa State, Agyas Ramuga has called on politicians at all levels to work towards uplifting the living standard of our youths who are regarded as future leaders rather than using them for personal gains.
Mrs. Agyas made the call in an interview with Prompt News Online in Lafia, Thursday.
She pointed out that, there are so many youths roaming about the streets without a source of livelihood adding that such people should be given incentives to deter them from indulging in criminal acts.
Ramuga who was worried with the rate at which some politicians use youths for their personal gains advised them to remain focus and vote the right candidate who would come in handy to assuage the sufferings of the teaming youths.
Ramuga who is vying for Nasarawa State House of Assembly at the 2015 polls under the platform of APC ascertained that she would place human capacity building as her priority. “If I will be given a chance to serve my people i will empower women and youths who are leaders of
tomorrow by giving them scholarship.
“Some youths want to go school but they don’t have money to go to school. I am not giving the type of scholarship that they used to give just 5,000 in the envelop, but I will provide a scholarship that would carry students to 400 level or 500 level. I will also empower women to
be self employed in the society,” she said.
Mrs. Agyas who also lamented the plight of widows and Orphanage in the society said she will come up with policies that would transform the lives of all and sundry if given the mandate to serve as a member in the state house of assembly.
She also applauded Governor Al-makura for his giant strides in transforming the state within the last two years in office.
“Al-makura has done excellently well, if I am asked to score him, I will score him 150 because when he came on board he focused on infrastructural development of the state which is the focal point of any administration.” She said.
She however, admonished Governor Tanko Al-makura to create employments for youths to halt youth restiveness in the state.
