President Goodluck Jonathan has approved the reappointment of Dr. Paul Orhii as the Director-General of National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC), with effect from January 13, 2014.
Also, the President approved the appointment of a new Director General of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC). He is Brig-Gen JB Olawunmi, who hails from Ekiti state.
He replaces as Brig-Gen. Okorie Afia and his appointment takes effect from December 23, 2013.
The appointments were announced in a statement by the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Anyim Pius Anyim.
Anyim also announced the appointment of Mr. Ibrahim Dahiru Waziri as Chairman, Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) with effect from December 24, 2013.
The statement further contained the appointment of Prof. Francis Idachaba as Chairman, Governing Board of Nigeria Merit Award with effect from December 29, 2013.
Other Board members include Prof. Etim M. Etim, Prof. John O. Enaohwo, Prof. Ben. Paul Onaji, Prof. Garba Uba Goja, Prof. Tola Olufunla, Prof. Andrew J. Nok and Prof Laz Ekwueme.
