The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Zamfara on Thursday called for cooperation and support of stakeholders, ahead of the conduct of Saturday’s State Congress.
Alhaji Sanusi Rikiji, the Chairman of the party’s local organising committee for the congresses in Zamfara made the call in Gusau at a stakeholders’ meeting.
The APC has scheduled Saturday, May 19, 2018, for state congresses across the country.
Rikiji, who is the Speaker of the state House of Assembly, said that the meeting was organised to discuss with all stakeholders about the upcoming exercise.
“You know this is one of the requirements as enshrined in the constitution of our great party to hold stakeholders’ meetings before any congress.
“As we have done in the previous wards and local government congresses of this party, we appreciated the support of all stakeholders, particularly INEC and security agencies for the peaceful congresses.
“All our party executives in the 147 wards and 14 local government areas of this state were elected successfully.
“We really appreciate the conduct of our delegates, party members and entire people of the state during the previous congresses.
“We are also appealing to them to display similar gesture at the state congress which is scheduled to hold this coming Saturday,’’ he said.
Rikiji commended Amb. Dauda Danladi-led National Committee for APC Congresses in the state for its commitment toward moving the party forward.
The state APC chairman, Alhaji Lawal Abubakar, said that all members of the party in Zamfara would work for the success of the congress.
