Dr Folarinmi Olowoleni, the newly installed Registrar, University of Ilorin, has been advised to be wary of sycophants among staff of the university in the discharge of her duties
Chief Yunusa Oyeyemi, the Aboaba of Offa, gave the advice on Monday, at the University while delivering his Personality Lecture entitled: ” To whom much is giving”.
The Personality Lecture was delivered to usher in the new and sixth University of Ilorin Registrar, Dr Olowoleni.
He told the registrar that she must avoid the temptation to set up a spy team of boot lickers who eavesdrop on conversations and report people to her.
Oyeyemi, who was a former Lecturer at the Institute of Education, Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, said it is the responsibility of all leaders to ensure that rules and regulations formulated for the good conduct of University business and community are strictly adhered to.
He added that all actions required from the new registrar should be taken seriously with the growth, progress, development and welfare of the University in mind.
Earlier in his address of welcome, the Vice-Chancellor of the University, Prof Sulyman Abdulkareem, said the appointment of Dr Olowoleni as the registrar was based on her passionate and steadfast services to the university and the qualities that match the reward.
Also in her speech, the new Unilorin Registrar, Dr Folarinmi Olowoleni promised to work as a team with the other management staff of the University.
She pledged to ensure firmness, fairness, adding that nobody would be unduly deprived of his or her due entitlement.
The registrar, therefore, appealed to staff of the institution to assist her in developing the University.
