Beach soccer fans will not only get the chance to see world-class players battle it out on the sand from Friday, but they will also be highly entertained when x talented cheerleaders take centre-stage at the COPA LAGOS Beach Soccer Competition, at the Eko Atlantic.
After two successful tournaments over the last two years, the third edition of the COPA Lagos Beach Soccer Competition is enjoying not only support from the corporate world like financial giant FCMB, but also support from the Lagos state government through the partnership agreement with Eko Beach Soccer League. This year, the tournament, will again be held at Eko Atlantic over three days, from December 13 to December 15, with four international teams fighting for the sport’s biggest beach s on the African continent.
The tournament will also feature plenty of entertainment with international DJ Xclusive from COOL FM playing throughout the tournament, while 6 sensational cheerleaders will also be in on the action.
The cheerleaders who hail from the Canary Islands, in Spain, arrived in Lagos ahead of Friday’s kick off. Estefania, Lorena, Yurena, Begona, Arlene and Berenice and will bring their vibrant and sassy dance routines to the stadium. These fantastic cheerleaders are gradually becoming acquainted with the bustling city of Lagos and have added much fun to the last two previous editions of the competition. The beautiful ladies have extensive experience performing at world-class events, including two Olympic Games and four FIFA Beach Soccer World Cups.
Arlene, head of the cheerleaders, said: “It is always so exciting for us to come to Lagos, because it reminds us so much of Spain. The energy here is incredible and the people are very warm and friendly. We love it here, and we always have a great time performing at COPA Lagos where the crowd are fun to perform for,” she admits.
She adds the group has designed a new set of dance routines specifically for a Nigeria audience.
“We feel really proud to be here again to help Kinetic Sports with COPA Lagos, the Lagos state government and the people of Nigeria promote sports tourism.”
