Alhaji Abubakar Yahaya, the Speaker of Katsina State House of Assembly, has described late Sen. Mustapha Bukar (APC-Kastina) as a patriot whose contributions to the development of the country could not be quantified.
Yahaya said this in a statement signed by his Chief Press Secretary, Malam Nasiru Zango, on Wednesday in Katsina.
He said Bukar played prominent roles in the development of Kastina State while serving as the General Manager of the State Water Board and Commissioner of Water Resources.
Yahaya said that the late Senator also facilitated the implementation of many projects, especially the completion of Sabke and Dallaje dam projects in his constituency.
He prayed to Almighty Allah to grant the deceased eternal rest and grant his family the fortitude to bear the loss.
Also commenting, the State Chairman of All Progressives Congress (APC), Alhaji Shitu Shitu, described the death of Bukar as a great loss to the people of the state and the nation in general.
Shitu said the deceased was a complete gentleman who contributed immensely to the development of his constituency and the state in general.
He prayed to Allah to forgive Bukhara of his sins.
Bukar died on Wednesday after a protracted illness in Abuja.
