By: Gracious Akujobi The Athletics Federation of Nigeria (AFN) has announced the appointment of coaches that will monitor young athletes during the maiden National Youth Games scheduled to start on Sunday, December 8,in Abuja.
Omasteye Nesiama, AFN technical committee chairman disclosed this in a chat with Prompt News Online.
According to him, the coaches have been given the task of identifying potential athletes who will be nurtured to stardom in the nearest future.
The coaches are Seigha Porbeni (Chairman), Femi Emmanuel (Sprint), Dan Etsebiminor (Long Spring), Ado Maude (Middle Distance), Stephen Nuhu (Long Distance), Jonny Igbokwe (Vertical Jumps), George Abadoni (Horizontal Jumps), Gad Onumaegbu (Hurdles), Henry Ogunmakinju (RaceWalk), Ken Onuaguluchi (Throws) while Lambu Umar serves as Secretary.
Nesiama, who also doubles as the Technical Director of AFN, added that these coaches are expected to carry out the assignment professionally and report back to the Technical Committee immediately after the Youth Games.
