ABUJA – The Executive Committee of the FCT SWAN has rescheduled its ANNUAL WEEK Events billed to commence on Saturday October 14, 2017, but has now been moved up by two weeks.

According to a statement by the Secretary of the Organising Committee, Salifu Usman, the Week is now billed to commence on Monday October 30, 2017 with the 5-aside football, table tennis and draught competitions.

“The change in date became necessary due to clash with the 2017 NFF Annual General Assembly and Aiteo Cup final, which involves some of the participants.

“Meanwhile, organisations who are interested in participating  in the 5-Aside football, and other sports competitions are advised to send their entry and list of players to the organising committee for 2017 SWAN WEEK on or before Wednesday, October 25, 2017 for proper verification.

“The participating media houses are also advised to send the list of not more than 12 players for the FCT-SWAN/ Ahmed Yusuf Fresh 5-Aside football competition, four players including male and female for the Table Tennis event and two players for the Draught event.

“We sincerely apologise for any inconvenience the change in date may have cost any one, we are confident that the event  will not suffer any further postponement,” the statement added .

The Main Organising Committee, chaired by Mr Mike Oboh, also appealed to corporate organisations, the sports family and  well wishers to give maximum support to the body to enable it organise a successfully programme this year.
Oboh hinted that a medical check and fitness exercise for its members, will herald this year’s programme expected to climax with an Award/Gala night.
