From the management of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) on Monday came a strong assurance to support the U- 20 national women’s team, Falconets to pick a ticket to represent Africa in next year’s FIFA Women’s World Cup in France.
Speaking to the players and coaches of the team after their evening training session at FIFA Goal Project Abuja, NFF Assistant Director, Technical, Mr. Rafiu Yusuf told the team that the Federation is determined to ensure that the welfare of the players and coaches is in the front burner.
According to the ex- international, the NFF expects the players to take the task at hand seriously to ensure that Nigeria beats Tanzania when both countries clash in Abuja in a fortnight.
Also speaking, Head of Women’s Football Unit, Ruth David harped on discipline and adviced the players not to be distracted by material gains.
She however assured that all their entitlements including outstanding monies for those in the last U- 17 and U- 20 teams to Jordan and Papua New Guinea.
Contributing the Special Assistant to NFF President on Women’s Football Affairs, Harry Awurumibe urged the team to look beyond camp entitlements and focus on their football career which can be joepardized by indiscipline acts.
NFF Head of Psychology Unit, Dr. Robinson Okosun charged the girls to shun external influence for them to succeed.
Responding on behalf of the team, Chief Coach, Christopher Danjuma, thanked the administrators and assured them that they would not disappoint Nigerians.
