ABUJA – Determined to ensure the repatriation and prosecution of Nigeria’s former Petroleum Minister, Diezani Alison-Madueke, Say No Campaign Nigeria Organization says it will march to the Embassies of some Western countries in Nigeria to demand their nations take action against her.
The organization at a press conference in Abuja on Tuesday, addressed by the Co- convener, Ezenwa Nwagwu disclosed that Say No Campaign Nigeria is planning a protest march to the Embassies of the United States of America and United Kingdom to demand that the two countries should facilitate the repatriation and prosecution of Nigeria’s former Petroleum Minister who has been accused of a monumental corruption and embezzlement of public funds.
Nwagwu stated that the move is aimed at bringing to the front burner the need for the two countries to acceed to Nigerian government’s request for the repatriation and prosecution of Alison-Madueke for the crimes she is alleged to have committed against the Nigerian State.
However, Say No Campaign Nigeria said it is not her duty to prosecute the culprits but to expose ills of the society where ever they are found without fear or favour.
The Civil Society Group therefore urged the relevant Agencies like the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), lnterpol and lndependent Corrupt Practice Commission (ICPC) to do the needful as a matter of urgency.
