By Gracious Akujobi Cross Rivers state government has expressed its readiness to host the Super Eagles ahead of their 2014 world cup play offs return leg against Wayla Antelopes of Ethiopia in Calabar on November 16.
This much was made known to Prompt News Online by the Commissioner for Sports, Patrick Ugbe who said fans are already being mobilized to storm the U.J Esuene stadium to cheer the African champions to victory.
“We have been hosting the Eagles for over a year now, we were their hosts before they qualified for the nations cup and went all the way to lift the trophy. We are also optimistic they will qualify for the world cup in Brazil and go all the way to make the nation proud.
“The Eagles got a good result in the first leg and what they need to do is to kick the ball and the ticket to Brazil is ours”, he said.
Eagles have one foot in Brazil after running away with a 1-2 victory in the first leg in Addis Ababa and coach Stephen Keshi has invited 25 players to camp for the all-important return leg.
