Suspected Boko Haram suicide bombers attacked two internally displaced persons (IDPs) camps on Sunday night, killing three IDPs.
Also, 17 other IDPs were severely injured during the attacks which left three suicide bombers dead.
This was confirmed in a statement on Monday by Abdulkadir Ibrahim, NEMA Information Officet for north east.
The statement reads:
“At about 11.20 pm yesterday night two suicide bombers (a male and female) detonated their improvised explosive device at Dalori 1 Internally Displaced Persons ( IDP) camp leading to the death of three IDPs while seventeen others were injured.
“Another incident occurred at Dalori 2 IDP camp where a suicide bomber was intercepted leading to the death of the suicide bomber.
“Injured persons have been administered with first aid and moved to hospitals in maiduguri.”
