Determined to organize a hitch- free Football Association annual competition now called Aiteo Cup, the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) President, Amaju Melvin Pinnick Monday inaugurated a high- powered committee to Midwife this year’s event.
The 12- man committee is headed by the NFF 1st Vice President, Seyi Akinwunmi while the Federation’ s General Secretary, Dr. Mohammed Sanusi will serve as the scribe of the committee.
Speaking at the event which took place at its Secretariat in Abuja, Pinnick disclosed that the set up of the committee became necessary to ensure that the country’s oldest annual football competition is repackaged to meet the aspiration of the new sponsors, Aiteo Group.
According to him the committee which also has two members of Aiteo Group will come up with the modalities to run the competition to reflect with the ideals of the sponsors.
Also elaborating on the committee’s agenda, the Chairman, Akinwunmi told the media that his committee will meet as soon as possible to brainstorm on the best way possible to give the event a good visibility.
He therefore assured the media that the NFF will partner with them to ensure a new vista is created for the competition.
In his Vote of Thanks, Dr. Sanusi promised that the committee will deliver in the mandate given to it by the Federation.
Other members of the committee present at the inauguration are NFF Executive Board members and Aiteo Cup members,Mallam Shehu Dikko, Alhaji Musa Gusua, Alhaji Ahmed Fresh, Ms. Aisha Falode and Hon. Yahaya Kwande who is a National Assembly member.
