Sir,
I was told that big personalities have limited time to go through long letter, so, I choose to make this letter open and brief.
I decided to write this short letter due to the unfolding criticisms on venerable Muhammadu Sunusi II, you can’t measure how amazing I was over the vacuous and lackadaisical attitude of Kano Emirate counsel by not responding to the present world reality of establishing social media presence.
“The poor people for whom you fight are voiceless by necessity, those of us who are fortunate to be part of the elite and who chose not to speak for them are voiceless by choice. We want to protect ourselves and our loved ones from the pain of being insulted and abuse on social media”.
Your highness, the above quotation have proven your concern over social media and the influence it has, a great emirate like Kano should possess social media platforms not only for the above reason but also to mute history fabricators and to control figures alteration.
However, the emirate most have control over pictures, videos and speeches that indicated the palace view and direction on policies and programs.
If Hadejia emirate can manage to create Facebook account, though it supposed to be a page, but at least they have responded to the present reality, why not the great and historic Kano emirate?
Your Highness, Kano emirate didn’t need only social media presence but rather need a well-structured media office that will be managed by professional media personnel.
I don’t know if tradition would allow the palace to acquire the services of a spokeperson but surely; there is need of such for the palace to remain halcyon.
Moreover, looking at hundreds of pending controversies on the palace activities and the character of venerable Muhammadu Sunusi II that need clarifications, I have strong belief that the above media plan can address these issues through providing official statements, pictures, videos, figures and the rest.
Long live the king!
Long live Kano!
Best regards,
Abubakar SD
