A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and a chairmanship aspirant for Mushin Local Government, Omoshola Omoshebi has vowed to rid Mushin and its environs of criminal activities that the area is known for through people oriented programmes if he is elected chairman of the LG in the forthcoming July 22 council election.
According to Omoshebi who is a United States trained security expert, he is going into the elections to serve his people and to deliver the dividends of democracy to the people.
“I want to serve the people. We have to change the name of Mushin for good by reducing crime to the barest minimum; my mission is to turn Mushin around to a replica of Lagos Island and Surulere,” he said.
“I will work with United States Crime Prevention Agency who has promised to render all form of assistance to me in ridding the area of all sorts of criminal activities by bringing in the needed expertise and gadgets that will make Mushin a crime free zone” he added.
Omoshebi expressed hope that he would be able to transform Mushin for good while urging the people and party leaders to give him the mandate when it is time to do so as he has the experience, connection and wherewithal to deliver the dividends of democracy to the people.
Speaking further, Omoshebi promised to set up several empowerment programmes that will benefit the people while vowing to resuscitate some of the moribund markets in the local government.
He also vowed to eschew all sorts of multiple taxations that the people in the local government are subjected to while promising to hold constant stakeholders meeting with the people to know their needs and filling it.
When asked on the chances of the party in the forthcoming election, he said the performances of Governor Akinwunmi Ambode are enough testaments on what the party stands for and has provided a good leverage for the party to win in all the 20 Local Governments and the 37 Local Council Development Areas during the poll.
Omoshebi however advised all aspiring candidates to shun do-or die politics, urging them to embrace peace and work together in unity. He also appealed to youths not to allow themselves to be used negatively by any politician during the forthcoming election.
