The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) on Wednesday discovered huge sums of money in foreign and local currencies in a house in Ikoyi, Lagos.
The fresh discovery is coming barely 24 hours after N4 billion belonging to a former deputy governorship candidate in Niger state was discovered by EFCC operatives in a hidden account with the Guaranty Trust Bank, GTB.
Mr. Wilson Uwujaren, EFCC Head of Media, said the cash in Ikoyi apartment was discovered by its operatives from its Lagos zonal office during a sting operation.
According to him, the sums of $38million, N23million and £27,000 were recovered from the Ikoyi apartment.
Prompt News Online recalls that a couple of days ago, the EFCC said it discovered €547,730 and £21,090 as well as N5, 648,500 from a Bureau de Change operator in Balogun Market, Lagos.
